Infinity-Edge Lap Pool The 50' infinity-edge lap pool is the central house feature. It frames spectacular nature reserve and ocean views. The canyon drops quickly behind the pool. At 5'-6" deep, the color of the ocean and sheltered by exotic trees, it always offers near perfect swim temps. In the hot dry season, it stays refreshing when most other pools become too warm. And its length is ideal for a great swim workout. While the tree canopy always keeps it inviting, the canopy also attracts monkeys and birds in close. |

Stone, Copper & Clay The house and grounds have decorative stone features on pillars, walls and fences. All done in pleasing proportions and scale. The exterior is finished in luxurious Italian stucco. Many ceilings have petroglyph-style leaf finishes with hidden lighting for a subtle feel. Hotel-style glass walls in the main living and dining area slide open for an unrivaled indoor-outdoor living experience in one of the finest microclimates in the world. The house is open to a rich biodiversity of nature with few pesky bugs. Open but with great privacy. The metal roofs are covered in old Nicaraguan clay tiles. Gutters, downspouts and fixtures are copper. |
Wood & Floor Finishes Cabinets, doors and wood features were built by a remote cabinet shop way north in Costa Rica. Using resilient Costa Rican hardwoods, the woodwork quality is exceptional. The 7' doors remain as straight today as when built. The kitchen cabinets vent naturally. The apartment has similar excellent cabinetry. The terrazzo floor in the main house is one of its finest features. Unlike hard tile, it feels soft under foot, never hot or slippery, and adds a lot to the causal living feel. The master bedroom floor is thick polished teak, and the exterior decks are Costa Rican cedar. The driveway and front courtyard is laid in 6" thick volcanic stones. |
